Academy Having mentioned Roland's
passion, qualifications and time in the air, we don't feel it necessary to
elaborate any more, suffice to say that safety and the love of flying are first
on his priority list which puts you in good hands.
Roland is also the Chairman of the Skybound Paragliding Club.

Introduction to Paragliding:
Roland specifically designed the Intro for persons with a tight time schedule,
such as back-packers and travellers’. The intro consists of a day
or two of dune handling rounded off by three high flights. Thereafter,
guaranteed you will be hooked and the Intro then becomes your deposit on
your Full Basic Licensed Course. The
Student is immediately registered at SAHPA, which entitles him to the full
benefits, which include amongst others casevac, 3rd party insurance, etc.
The student needs a minimum of 35 flights and a minimum of 240 minutes of
airtime. Within these flights the student is taught how to read the sky,
sea and vegetation. The student learns of Air traffic rules and general airmanship,
of which an exam is written. They will be issued with an Internationally
recognised license enabling him to fly any DHV1, 1-2, 2 glider.
Sport Pilot License:
Roland offers a unique package ranging from glider security, thermalling, XC-flying,
to understanding your glider, recovering from various collapses and intense
safety aspects. This course needs a minimum 100 flights and pilot must be
equipped with a reserve.
Reserve packing Course:
Having had years of experience in Reserve parachutes, Roland can share his knowledge
of various makes of reserves, various packing styles, and means of deployment.
